I absolutely loved the cozy decor of the tents and the charming ambiance of the common areas. The hotel's general areas were well-maintained and easily accessible for senior people like myself. It made me feel right at home, surrounded by beautiful nature and comfortable facilities.
If I could ask for one thing to make the vacation even better for senior people, it would be to have handrails or additional support in the bathroom for added safety. The staff, who were like caring children, were always available to assist, but this small addition would provide extra peace of mind.

The personalized horse trail ride was an absolute highlight for both us parents and the kids. It was a fantastic way to immerse ourselves in the African landscape while learning more about the local fauna and flora. The knowledgeable guides made the experience even more enjoyable, sharing fascinating facts about the animals and their behaviors. The bushwalks and night drives were also exceptional, providing us with unique opportunities to explore the reserve and discover its hidden wonders. The reception area, with its cozy ambiance and friendly staff, made us feel welcome and excited before setting off on our adventures. We truly appreciate the commitment of Amakhala Game Reserve and its partners to educate visitors about sustainable tourism, ensuring the preservation of this remarkable ecosystem for future generations.
My wife says that it would have been great to have a dedicated children's play area at the camp.

The tents were cozy and private, with only 12 rooms on the property. The staff provided excellent service and the food was delicious. Our guide, Seamus, made the safaris fun and entertaining. Our stay at this camp was simply magical. The view from our tent was breathtaking, especially the stunning sunrises. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The game drives were the highlight of our stay, with our knowledgeable guide Don ensuring we had incredible close-up encounters with lions and giraffes. The ambiance, location, and delicious food added to the overall amazing experience. We also loved the glamping-style tents and the beautiful swimming pools.
The only downside was the noise from the nearby main road, which slightly disturbed the authentic safari ambiance at night.

Tents were surprisingly comfy and the electricity was a nice touch. Saw all the expected animals, thanks to our witty guide Donovan. Staff was helpful and the food was delish. Chill by the pool? Yes, please.
Oh, how thrilling it was to scramble to order dinner before the afternoon safari! And let's not forget the guide who couldn't be bothered to stay out longer with the lions.

The safari experience was amazing! We saw all the animals we hoped for, including an elephant right next to us during breakfast. The tents were comfortable and even had electric blankets. The food was delicious and there was plenty of it. The staff were really helpful and friendly. The location was perfect, right inside the reserve so we didn't waste any time getting to the start of the game drives.
There was only one minor issue - one of the tent floors was slightly damp/wet, but this was understandable due to the rain we had during our stay. it didn't affect our experience negatively at all.
